Remember you are dust; to dust you will return.
Lent begins March 1: a mandatory day of fasting and abstinence. The church banishes the joyful tones of the Gloria and the Alleluia, and we put on the muted purple with Christ in the desert. We are called to fast, pray, mortify, and give alms.
Ashes will be distributed during Mass at the following times:
- 7 am, Mass without music
- 9 am, SFDS School Mass
- 7 pm, Solemn Mass with music
