Peter wasn’t educated. He wasn’t particularly pious, and he was a bit of a hothead at times. And yet, his faith in Jesus–his willingness to step forward and identify Him as the Son of God–shows us why he was given the Keys to the kingdom of Heaven: the power of the Church to bind and to loose.
