August 9, 2020: Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

“Take courage: it is I. Do not be afraid.” This is what Christ tells Peter on the Sea of Galilee–it’s the great proclamation of Christianity. To believe that He can feed the five thousand, to calm the winds, to walk on water–it’s the great challenge of Christianity: answering who He is. We know by faith–and it should give us courage to respond in our daily lives.

On Sundays, our church doors remain open for private prayer after Mass until 6 pm. If you choose to make a Sunday visit to our Lord, please practice responsible social distancing.

Please consider donating to St. Francis de Sales Parish. In the absence of a Sunday collection, we rely on your contributions to provide service to our community.
